India’s Wonder Cement has ordered two additional vertical mills from Gebr Pfeiffer, adding to the five already supplied by the company.
Due to the mill's ability to grind moist material, the cement manufacturer ordered a MVR 6000 C-6 to grind cement. This feature was significant since Wonder Cement uses stored fly ash, which has a high-moisture content, as an extender. Furthermore, the mill has a better specific energy consumption than the combi-grinding plants previously used.
The MVR 6000 C-6 has a 5820kW drive power and is expected to grind mixed cements to a fineness of 5 per cent R45µm. The mill will be designed to grind blastfurnace slag to approximately 4500cm²/g according to Blaine. It will also be able to grind blastfurnace cements with various proportions of granulated blastfurnace slag, fly ash and gypsum to different fineness degrees.
Delivery of the mill is scheduled for early 2019.
Elsewhere, Wonder cement awarded a further contract to Gebr Pfeiffer for the supply of a VRM for its plant expansion project in Tehsil Nimbahera, Chittorgarh. The MPS mill will grind the petcoke and/or coal as a fuel for the new kiln line. The third rotary kiln at the facility is expected to have an 8000tpd capacity.
The MPS 3070 BK will have a 40tph capacity at a fineness of two per cent R90µm. Since the mill will be equipped with the latest generation of SLS BK high-efficiency classifier, the fuel will be ground, dried with process gases and then classified. Most components of the coal mill will be supplied by Gebr Pfeiffer (India) Pvt Ltd.
The new kiln line and grinding plant in expected to be commissioned in spring 2019.
