Cement sales in Puerto Rico increased 17.9 per cent YoY in June 2018, representing a sixth-consecutive monthly growth. Domestic sales reached 1.23m bags (42kg/94lb), reports Esmerk Latin American News.
The latest sales data show a sustained market recovery following the fall in sales in the months after Hurricanes Maria and Irma. In 2017 sales declined 11.2 per cent YoY.
Total cement production fell by 19.8 per cent YoY to 937,400 bags – the first decrease since the start of the year. In 2017 output dropped by 14.2 per cent, registering a decrease for the fifth year running.
