Indonesia's cement and clinker exports have reached 3.62Mt in the January-August 2018 period an increase of 95.8 per cent YoY, reports Indonesian Investments.
According to the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI), cement and clinker exports are now forecast to reach 5Mt by the end of 2018, which is massively up on the original target of 3Mt. In the month of August cement and clinker exports rose by 31.1 per cent YoY to 541,143t, said ASI.
Agung Wiharto, corporate secretary of PT Semen Indonesia, said cement and clinker exports from the group have risen by 67 per cent in 2018 to 359,837t with the main destinations being in the Asia-Pacific region.
Meanwhile, domestic cement demand grew to 42.91Mt between January-August 2018, up 4.3 per cent YoY.
