A new US$100m cement plant was launched in Rudny, Kostanay region, Kazakhstan, to meet the requirements of the domestic cement industry as well as Russia’s southern regions, Kazakh media reported. By the end of the year, the works plans to produce 17,200t of cement.
"We plan to get the first products within five days. There is already a buyer for cement – from Ufa (Russia). They are ready to purchase about 200,000-300,000t of cement, that is 50 per cent of the design capacity of the plant,” Artem Maklasov, the plant’s director said.
The plant employs currently 190 people but will be able to employ 304 when operating at full capacity.
