United Cement Investor, a Tunisian company, is building a greenfield 1.5Mta cement plant in Tunisia. The plant will be situated in Bir Thlathin, south Tataouine, Tunisia and work is to begin on construction in March 2019.
The new facility will create 419 direct jobs and 600 indirect jobs, but the French investors have so far only acquired 65 per cent of the land required.
The plant is scheduled to be completed by 2022.
