The Brazilian Metso operation (Metso Brazil) is celebrating this June the historic mark of 100 years of activities in the country. The company is conducting a series of events throughout the year, beginning with Metso units in the locations where it operates and concluding with the company's book launch about the company's history in November.
"It is a privilege for each of us to look at these 100 years of history and know that we were the ones who built them. More important than looking back and celebrating this special moment, we are launching seeds for the coming periods," says Pedro Macedo, VP of Human Resources at Metso in South America.
Marcelo Motti, Sr VP Market Area for the Minerals business in Brazil said: “The next few years will be even more challenging as it became clear to everyone that successful companies in the past will not necessarily have success in the future. You have to constantly evolve," adds Mr Motti. "Today, we must keep a close eye on developing appropriate industry solutions for 4.0 and tools based on digital platforms. After all, the digitisation is the new era, and there is no turning back,.”
The opening of the celebrations took place in March in the cities of Sorocaba (SP), Belo Horizonte and Paracatu (MG) and Parauapebas (PA), where Metso has offices.
