Cemex has appointed José Antonio Cabrera as the new president EMEA region, starting April. 

Mr Cabrera was first employed by Cemex in 2000 and has worked in various positions in the area of planning, operations and trade. For the last six years, he has been general director of Cemex Cluster Caribe (Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico). 

In this new role, Mr Cabrera will oversee all of the company’s operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa, continuing the work started by his predecessor Sergio Menéndez. He will champion innovation, leveraging Cemex's knowledge and resources to achieve breakthrough advancements towards carbon neutrality, while also supporting financial growth by advancing the sustainability agenda through smart financial strategies, and maintaining the region's strategic position as a key part of the business’s portfolio.

Cemex has also announced the appointment of Bernardo Cioni as the new country manager in Puerto Rico, leveraging his ability "to integrate operations, optimise processes and execute decarbonisation strategies consolidate him as a visionary leader, prepared to take on great challenges and enhance the sustainable growth of the industry."

Mr Cioni has worked for Cemex in the last 20 years and led key transformations in markets in the USA, Europe and Latin America.
