The Czech Republic’s cement output increased 9.8 per cent YoY to 4.43Mt in 2018, the largest amount since 2008, according to data from the country’s cement producers’ association. The production rise has been attributed to demand from the domestic construction industry and an increase in exports.
Consumption advanced 7.7 per cent to 4.25Mt, compared with 3.95Mt in 2017. Cement exports surged by 36.4 per cent to 746,610t last year, with Slovakia accounting for around 60 per cent, Germany for 28 per cent, with smaller amounts to Poland and Austria.
