Cement dispatches by Vietnamese producers surged by 30 per cent YoY to 8.08Mt in July, according to data by the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). When compared with the previous month, deliveries were up eight per cent.
Domestic sales improved by 21 per cent to 5.794Mt when compared with July 2018. VICEM saw its sales increase by 15 per cent YoY to 1.878Mt while its joint-ventures reported a six per cent YoY rise to 1.571Mt. Other Vietnamese cement producers noted a 40 per cent hike in sales to 2.345Mt in the period.
In addition, Vietnam exported 2.287Mt of cement and clinker, representing a 64 per cent YoY advance. Overseas cement dispatches nearly doubled YoY and increased by eight per cent MoM to 0.853Mt while clinker exports rose by 48 per cent YoY and 35 per cent MoM to 1.434Mt.
January-July 2019
In January-July 2019 total dispatches by Vietnamese producers advanced by 22 per cent to 55.772Mt. Domestic deliveries were up by four per cent YoY to 37.332Mt. VICEM sales edged up four per cent to 12.736Mt, but those of its joint-ventures slipped by two per cent to 10.311Mt. Other cement producers noted an eight per cent rise in sales to 14.286Mt.
Total exports improved by 84 per cent to 17.961Mt in the 7M19 when compared with the 7M18. Cement exports surged 248 per cent YoY to 7.008Mt while clinker exports were up 32 per cent YoY to 10.953Mt.
