Arab Swiss Engineering Company (ASEC) and the Iraqi conglomerate KAR Group have announced signing a three-year agreement for the operation and maintenance of Qarachough cement plant. The 1.9 Mta facility is situated near Erbil city, Iraq.
The cooperation between the two companies comprises human resources support in which ASEC has assisted KAR in the selection and recruitment of domestic calibres, in addition to the design and execution of tailored manpower development programmes.
The O&M scope perfectly ties in with the manpower development scope as ASEC takes over the responsibility of driving the plant's operational excellence. For the agreement's duration, ASEC will continue fostering the technical competence of the domestic calibres. It is worth noting that the plant handover, from its former operator, has been successfully accomplished and the operation is advancing with a steady progress, reports ASEC.
Commenting on the completion of the plant's handing-over, ASEC's chairman and managing director said, "We are thrilled with the growing partnership with KAR Group, and we believe the successful handover and steady operational progress is largely attributed to the mutual trust and perfect alliance."
