Argentina’s cement consumption fell 7.2 per cent YoY and 10.4 per cent MoM to 938,972t in September 2019, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. Domestic demand was entirely supplied by the country’s cement producers.
Cement output by Argentina’s cement producers declined 6.7 per cent YoY to 948,206t in September 2019. Of this total, 938,972t was supplied to the domestic market and 9234t was exported.
January-September 2019
Between January and September 2019, the Argentine market contracted by six per cent to 8,449,466t when compared with 8,992,282t in the 9M18. The market has been supplied by domestic output only this year, unlike in the 9M18, when 69,616t entered the country.
Exports increased in the first nine months of 2019 to 66,462t, up 12.8 per cent from 52,131t reported in the 9M18.
