Cement deliveries in Morocco by APC members – Asment Témara, Ciments de l’Atlas, Ciments du Maroc, LafargeHolcim Maroc and Novacim – increased by 21.1 per cent YoY to867,743t in April 2024 from 716,483t in April 2023, according to the country's Ministry of National Planning, Urban Planning and Housing.

Of this total, 55,861t was supplied in April 2024 to the infrastructure sector, up 60.2 per cent YoY as the government continues to invest in the country’s infrastructure. In April 2023 deliveries to the infrastructure segment reached 34,869t. In addition, 526,429t was delivered to the retail segment, up 21.5 per cent YoY when compared with 433,289t in April 2023 while the ready-mix market increased its off-take by 14.4 per cent to 176,739t from 154,539t in April 2023. The prefabricated products and building sector reported increases of 13.7 per cent to 79,998t and 4.3 per cent to 24,439t, respectively. A further 4277t of cement were supplied to the mortars market.

January-April 2024
In the first four months of 2024 total cement deliveries edged up by 3.5 per cent YoY to 4.102,949t from 3,964,276t in the January-April 2023 period.

The largest advance was seen by the infrastructure segment where deliveries saw a 44.4 per cent advance to 282,304t when compared with 195,523t in the 4M23. The ready-mix concrete market also significantly increased its off-take by 11.1 per cent to 897,792t in the 4M24 from 808,323t in the year-ago period. The prefabricated products segment saw a 3.4 per cent YoY pick-up to 396,129t from 383,025t in the same period. However, sales to the retail sector slipped 1.7 per cent YoY to 2,375,086t in the 4M24 from 2,415,573t in the 4M23. Deliveries to the building sector decreased by 19.4 per cent YoY to 130,372t from 161,831t while 21,266t was sold to the mortars segment in the 4M24.
