Heidelberg Materials UK has acquired B&A Group, one of the leading construction soil and aggregate recycling companies in southwest England. The Bristol-based company employs a team of 70, and specialises in the supply of recycled and primary aggregate as well as site clearance, earthworks, land remediation and sustainable land regeneration. It had its most successful year to date in 2023, turning over in excess of GBP50m (US$63.7m) and making a posting pretax profit of GBP9.1m.
According to Heidelberg Materials, the acquisition of B&A Group is another example of the company’s commitment to reaching net zero by conserving natural materials and promoting the circular economy by recycling, reusing and reducing the use of primary raw materials.
“B&A Group is a successful business with an unrivalled reputation in the southwest, underpinned by a strong team. This announcement follows the completion of our acquisition of Mick George Ltd and adds an additional source of high-quality recycled materials for use in our sustainable building materials,” said Simon Willis, CEO, Heidelberg Materials UK.
B&A Group will join Heidelberg Materials’ recycling business line, headed by James Whitelaw.
