Cement consumption in Argentina fell by 5.6 per cent YoY and 12.1 per cent MoM to 764,935t in December 2024 when from 810,343t and 870,090t, respectively, according to data published by AFCP, the country's cement association.

Domestic cement production in the last month of 2024 declined by 5.4 per cent YoY to 772,507t from 816,254t and by 11.9 per cent MoM from 876,775t. 

Argentina's cement producers exported 7799t of cement in December 2024, up 7.3 per cent from 7267t in December 2023 and 7.6 per cent from 7251t in November 2024. Approximately 227t of cement was imported in December 2024, down from 1356t in December 2023 and from 567t in November 2024.

Full-year 2024
Argentina's cement market contracted by 24 per cent YoY to 9.499Mt in 2024 from 12.498Mt in the previous year. 

The country's cement producers delivered 9.494Mt to the market, representing a 24 per cent decrease when compared with dispatches in 2023. In addition, they exported 61,157t of cement, a decrease of 0.6 per cent when compared with 61,530t of exports in 2023. 

However, imports into Argentina saw a significant increase of 79.2 per cent to 4698t in 2024 from 2622t in 2023.
