The government of Argentina has approved simplifying the rules for the import and production of cement to encourage competition and lower prices by reducing bureaucracy, reports América Economía.
Following Resolution 26/2025, test reports and international certificates from recognised and accepted organisations will be accepted for marketing in high surveillance countries and neighbouring countries (Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay), which reduces the expense in the procedures for assessing the conformity of products, as well as avoiding complex double certification procedures that generated months of delay.
The resolution also establishes that national and foreign certificates from accredited certification organisations are valid for marketing in Argentina. This avoids the duplication of tests and control processes that have already verified international plants.
