Pakistan's cement sector has consistently demonstrated impressive export performance in the first eight months of FY24-25 (July 2024-February 2025). According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), exports of cement and clinker surged by 27 per cent, reaching a total value of US$208.06m, up from US$163.90m during the same period last year. When converted to Pakistani rupees, export revenue rose by 23.4 per cent, totalling PKR57.89bn (US$206.5m). In terms of export volumes, there was a 38.1 per cent increase to 5.861Mt in the 8MFY24-25 from 4.245Mt in the equivalent period of the previous year. 

The growth trend was somewhat reversed in February 2025, with the PBS reporting a MoM decrease in cement sector exports of 3.1 per cent, falling to US$19.72m from US$20.61m in January 2025. However, the export volume in February increased by 1.13 per cent, rising from 581,606t to 588,173t compared to the previous month. YoY comparisons for February reveal a significant increase, with cement exports climbing by 50.8 per cent in value and 68.3 per cent in quantity compared to February 2024, amounting to 349.534t valued at US$13.24m.
