Demand for cement declined by 6.6 per cent YoY to 589,600t in Senegal in February 2025 from 631,600t in February 2024, according to data published by Senegal’s Planning and Economic Policy Directorate.
Domestic output fell by 13.5 per cent YoY to 721,600t when compared with a production level of 834,500t in the equivalent month of the previous year.
Cement exports from Senegal saw a 42.7 per cent drop YoY to 124,400t in February 2025 from 217,000t.

In the first two months of 2025, Senegal’s cement market contracted by 5.2 per cent to 1.229Mt when compared with the 2M24, when consumption reached 1.297Mt.
Production from the country’s cement plants decreased by 13.9 per cent YoY to 1.484Mt from 1.724Mt in the 2M24.
Export sales shrank by 38.3 per cent YoY to 272,400t from 441,900t in the 2M24.
