GICA subsidiary prepares export plan

The Public Industrial Group of Algerian Cement (GICA) has announced that its Beni Saf subsidiary plans to export over 45,000t of clinker to African countries during the current year. Amouda Ciment exports 3200t to Niger

In 2019 Algeria-based Amouda Ciment’s El Beida cement plant exported more than 3200t of cement to Niger, according to El Watan. The company’s first export shipment was carried out in August, when it supplied 1400t to Niger and was followed by two deliveries of 400t each in October and November. A further 1000t was exported in December. Algerian cement exports increase 239% in 11M19

The value of Algerian cement and clinker exports has surged 239.2 per cent to US$59.24m in the 11M19, compared with US$17.47m in the year-ago period, according to the Customs’ Surveys and Prospects Department (DEPD). Saïd Djellab, former trade minister, had said in November that cement export revenues were expected to reach US$60m in late 2019, however, these figures are now expected to require adjustment considering the pace of development.

Algeria’s cement export revenues have increased more than 251 per cent YoY in the first nine months of 2019, rising to over US$51m from US$14.54m, according to the Customs’ Directorate of Studies and Prospective (DEPD). Algeria's Minister of Industry and Mines has set a 6Mt target for the cement industry to export in 2020. The country only began cement exports in 2017. Algerian cement exports surge to US$42m

Cement exports from Algeria reached US$42.41m between January-July 2019, more than septupling YoY, according to the Algerian customs service. Exports of hydraulic cement and clinker rose from US$5.03m in the 7M18.
