Total cement industry dispatches in the month of September 2015 have decreased by eight per cent YoY, dragged down by a steep fall in exports, according to provisional cement sales figures. Brazil Jan-August sales down 6.8% YoY

Brazilian sales over the first eight months of this year fell 6.8 per cent YoY to 43.7Mt compared to the 46.9Mt sold in 2014, according to preliminary data and market estimates gathered by Brazilian cement association Sindicato Nacional da Indústria de Cimento (SNIC). Pakistan's domestic dispatches grew by 7.9 per cent YoY in FY15 to 28.2Mt, while exports fell 11.6 per cent YoY to 7.2Mt. The drop in exports limited revenue growth in the Pakistan cement sector to 3.4 per cent YoY. Pakistan cement dispatches rose by 10.24 per cent in August 2015 to 3.061Mt despite a 31 per cent drop in exports. According to the data released by All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), domestic sales during August 2015 increased by 28 per cent to 2.494Mt from 1.94Mt a year earlier. India: Sagar Cements reports rise in monthly output and sales

India-based Sagar Cements Ltd on Tuesday reported a 6.87 per cent rise in output during August 2015 to 114,600t compared to 107,236t a year earlier. Dispatches during August 2015 stood at 113,380t, an increase of 5.23 per cent, compared to 107,749t in August 2014. Earlier this month the company completed the acquisition of a 100 per cent shareholding in BBM Cements. BMM Cements has now become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sagar Cements.

Pakistan’s domestic cement dispatches increased by 4.19 per cent in July 2015 to 1.8Mt. Exports, however, declined by 7.45 per cent to 465,000t. Pakistan cement sales fell by 33 per cent in the first month of FY15-16 to 2.19Mt, preliminary data from AHL Research shows. During July 2015, domestic demand dropped by 36 per cent MoM to 1.74Mt while exports were down by 17 per cent to 499,000t, data from the report published in the Tribune (Pakistan), revealed. Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), the country’s leading state-owned cement producer, said its cement and clinker sales slipped 0.5 per cent to 10.73Mt in the first half of 2015. Indian cement major ACC Ltd reported a 45.1 per cent drop in consolidated net profit for the second quarter of the calendar year to INR133.5 crore on the back of challenging market conditions and subdued demand. Consolidated total income of the company fell by 2.1 per cent to INR3,037.1 crore in April-June 2015 quarter from INR3103.2 crore in the same quarter of 2014 fiscal, it added. Ecuador cement sales reached 2.88Mt in the first six months of this year, the Institute of Cement and Concrete (INECYC) has reported. In June 2015, dispatches reached 488,777t – an increase of 2.45 per cent compared to 477,111t in the month before, the data reveals.
