The outlook for Europe in 2023 remains challenging and unpredictable after a better than expected 2022, according to CIC Market Solutions. Cement imports from Belarus threaten Russian production

Rising imports from Belarus may hit cement production in Russia, according to the real estate office of the RIA Novosti agency. Cement imports from Belarus have increased by 61 per cent YoY in September-October 2022 to 434,000t. Germany’s Aumund Fördertechnik GmbH is supplying 41 machines for a new kiln line at the Medcem Madencilik cement plant in Silifke in the Turkish province of Mersin. Cementarnica Usje , the North Macedonian subsidiary of Titan, reported a drop in net profit by 41 per cent to MKD621.2m (US$9.9m) in the first nine months of 2022 when compared with the year-ago period. Steppe Cement reports 9% increase in revenue in 3Q22

Kazakhstan's Steppe Cement Ltd has posted a nine per cent YoY increase in revenue in the 3Q22. Revenue came in at KZT13,071m (US$27.7m) compared to KZT12,045m in the same period last year. In the 9M22, revenue was KZT32,651m, up 13 per cent YoY from KZT28,812m in the 9M21.  The company sold 546,327t of cement in the 3Q22, up two per cent YoY. Steppe Cement has announced a consolidated profit after tax of US$10.2m for the six months ended 30 June 2022, up 65 per cent YoY. The Kazakstan cement producer’s gross margin in the 1H22 edged up from 44 to 46 per cent in US$ terms on the back of cement price increases .
