Bharathi Cement commissions 10MW solar power plant

India’s Bharathi Cement has commissioned a 10MW solar power plant at its 5Mta cement works in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. The facility is expected to help cut the company’s overall energy costs by reducing its reliance on thermal power. The project was delivered by Fourth Partner Energy in a record 60 days, according to a company press release. The power plant is part of Bharathi’s long-term plan to transition to renewable energy.

Votorantim creates new unit to assist alternative material co-processing

Mexico’s Grupo Cementos Chihuahua (GCC) has signed an agreement with a US-based clean energy provider for the supply of solar and wind energy to its cement plant in Odessa, Texas, to fulfil 100 per cent of the facility’s electricity requirement.
