Ohorongo considers TDF use

Irish Cement has stated that its plans to increase alternative fuels usage is not a move to develop a waste incinerator, according to The Irish Times. The company has been using 120,000t of residual waste at its Platin cement works and has requested permission to increase the volume to 600,000t. Apeco slag conveyor system is installed at Swedish cement plant

Apeco has successfully completed a slag conveyor system project at the Cementa cement plant in Slite, Gotland, Sweden. The supplied conveyors were installed on a hill with limited bearing points, and are capable of transporting sand or slag at a rate of 600tph. Within the framework of the project, Apeco delivered two belt conveyors with different transshipment chutes and flap-valves to the client. Lafarge Canada has applied for industrial approval regarding its plans to burn tyres as an alternative fuel for its Brookfield cement plant.
