US EPA extends comment period for NESHAP Residual Risk rule

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has extend the comment period on its rule “National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants from the Portland Cement Manufacturing Industry Residual Risk and Technology Review” from 6 November to 21 November 2017. The EPA is making this change due to a request for additional time to prepare comments on the proposed rule.

Newberry and Roberta plants receive EPA Energy Star certification

Cement producers in northern states of India can expect rising fuel costs on the back of the Supreme Court's ban on petcoke use in the National Capital Region (NCR) from 1 November 2017. According to a new report by Oficemen, the Spanish cement industry is undertaking steps to reduce its CO2 emissions by 80 per cent by 2050 when compared with 1990 as base year. Vietnam’s Power Generation Corporation 1 (GENCO 1), a unit of the country’s state utility Vietnam Electricity (EVN), has signed deals with seven partners to sell some 2.9Mt of fly ash from the Duyen Hai 1 and 3 thermal power plants in the southern province of Tra Vinh.
