Bangladesh reports 50% increase in cement export revenue

Bangladesh has reported 49.7 per cent YoY growth in cement export revenue to US$8.13m in the 8MFY22-23 (July 2022-February 2023). This compares to US$5.43m in the same period a year earlier. According to the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), this figure also includes minor amounts of salt, stone and related products. The cement market in Argentina contracted by 4.5 per cent YoY and 6.5 per cent MoM to 895,938t in February 2023, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. In February 2022 demand reached 938,072t while in January 2023 it stood at 958,230t. Domestic cement sales by Vietnam’s cement producers saw a 39 per cent YoY fall to 2.782Mt in January, reports VNCA, the country’s cement association. Pakistan’s cement industry saw a negative export revenue trend on overseas dispatches in the 7MFY22-23 (July-January 2023), according to the country’s Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS). During the 7MFY22-23, the cement industry earned US$100.63m by exporting 2.061Mt of cement and clinker, compared with US$160.92m from 4.315Mt exports in the 7MFY21-22.
