PT Semen Indonesia has posted a disappointing 12.8 per cent rise in revenue to IDR12.88trn (US$1.13bn) in 1H14, compared to growth of 31.9 per cent in the same period last year. Sales volumes during the period came in 4.6 per cent higher at 12.8Mt, but this was still far lower than the 18.5 per cent growth seen in the first half of 2013. Semen Indonesia is exploring potential in non-cement related industries as it looks to diversify its business portfolio, with the property business first on its list. Semen Indonesia has won an award from the country's Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry in recognition of its renewable energy efforts. Semen Indonesia has earmarked US$500m in capex next year in anticipation of an increase in infrastructure projects over the next five years, its president director has said. Capstone Turbine Corporation has received an order from Indonesia for a Capstone C800 system to power a cement factory in Balikpapan, Indonesia.
