US-based Summit Materials saw a 24.5 per cent rise in operating income for the second quarter of 2020 to US$100.1m from US$80.4m in the year-ago period. Cemex Ventures is investing in US-based Arqlite SPC, a start-up that produces light recycled aggregates from plastic waste. Eagle Materials posts record revenue in FY19-20

US-based Eagle Materials has reported a record revenue of US$1.45bn in the FY19-20, up four per cent from US$1.39bn in the previous fiscal year. CalPortland has awarded a supply contract to FLSmidth for its Mojave raw mill project. Votorantim Cimentos' financial statement for the period ended 31 March 2020 reported net revenue up nine per cent to BRL2747m (US$494.6m) from BRL2524m in the 1Q19, while adjusted EBITDA fell to BRL232m from BRL586m in the 1Q19. LafargeHolcim has strengthened its partnership with Solidia Technologies to reduce CO 2 across its value chain.
