Russia transports 11.18Mt of cement by rail in 1H20

In the first half of 2020, Russia’s cement producers shipped 11.18Mt of cement by rail, a 9.7 per cent decline YoY. Eurocement’s plants accounted for 37.5 per cent of the shipments, largely consistent with 37.7 per cent in the 1H19. Siberian Cement plants increase 1H output 4%

In the first half of 2020 Siberian Cement (Sibcem) produced 2.2Mt of cement, representing a four per cent YoY increase. Topkinsky Cement’s output rose by one per cent to 1Mt, while Iskitimcement increased its production by eight per cent to 453,800t. Teploozersky Cement completes kiln maintenance project

Russia’s Teploozersky Cement (Vostok Cement), based in the Far Eastern district, has completed the scheduled maintenance of its No 3 rotary kiln. Work on the  kiln was focussed on correcting the position of the furnace units and repair. In addition, worn sections of the lining were corrected and operations have now resumed. The plant is currently completing the repair of Kiln 1.

Chechencement to reach full capacity in 2020

Chechencement in Russia’s Republic of Chechnya increased its production capacity by 34 per cent to 0.64Mta in 2019. Metso has signed a contract for the delivery of a calcining system to a customer in Russia. The order value of approximately EUR30m has been booked in Metso's 1Q20 orders received. Commissioning of the system is expected in 2023. Cement consumption in Russia increased eight per cent to 57.8Mt in 2019, according to the country’s cement association, Soyuzcement.
