Cement sales in Chile edge up 2% in September

Chilean cement sales have increased by two per cent YoY in September 2021. Volumes were reported at 334,603t in September 2021, up from 328,184t in September 2020, according to the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC). In the January-September 2021 period sales advanced 1.2 per cent YoY to 3.214Mt when compared with 2.65Mt.

Argentina’s cement consumption increased 6.6 per cent YoY and 2.8 per cent MoM to 1,141,043t in October 2021, according to AFCP, the country’s cement association. Cementos Argos has posted consolidated revenues of COP2489bn (US$641.82m) in the third quarter of 2021, up 5.3 per cent YoY, favoured by the positive evolution of volumes and prices. Argentine-based Loma Negra has turned its kilns at its L'Amalí in Olavarría back on after resolving the conflict with Minerar, the union that exploits the company’s limestone quarry.
