Peruvian Pacasmayo to export to Pacific countries

Peruvian cement producer Cementos Pacasmayo will use the limestone and diatomite deposits in Bayovar in the northwestern region of Piura to produce Portland-type cement and lime for export to the Pacific countries, Pacasmayo said on August 29, 2007.     Pacasmayo will produce both white and gray Portland cements. Lucky Cement of Pakistan will dispatch first consignment to India during the next week, an official at the company told Daily Times. The government may cancel the 5% customs duty on cement imports within the next month, Aton quoted the local media as reporting, citing Rosstroi head Sergei Kruglik. Strong demand for cement has forced Finnish cement manufacturer  Finnsementti to import clinker from China. Guangxi’s cement exports increase rapidly in first seven months

In the first seven months of 2007, the cement export volume of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was 453,000t valued at US$ 14.74M, up 76.3% and 66.9% respectively year-on-year, according to the latest statistics released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs. Starting from July 1st, China abolished the cement export rebates rate. In July, the cement export volume in the Region was 83,000t, down 16,000t over June.

China exported 3,440,000t of cement and clinker valued at US$114.165m  in June 2007 (an average price of US$33.18 per tonne). The export in January-June reached 17,7600,000 tons valued at US$592.304m, up 1.2 per cent and 4.1 per cent respectively year on year.

Hainan’s cement prices

In the period from July 25th to August 5th, the prices of industrial means of production increased significantly in Hainan, according to the latest statistics released by the Hainan Province Price Monitoring Center.On August 5th, the cement (strength class 42.5) and cement (strength class 32.5) were priced at RMB425/t and RMB390/t respectively, increased by RMB35/t and RMB25/t over the July 25th prices, with the growth rates at 8.97% and 6.85% respectively.
