Vicem reports 10% sales increase in 1H18

Vietnam’s Vicem has reported a 10.1 per cent YoY increase in cement and clinker sales for 1H18, with the total 14.7Mt including 11.74Mt of exports. Additionally, the company’s cement and clinker output rose 8.5 per cent and 6.4 per cent to 10.15Mt and 11.56Mt, respectively. From January to June 2018, cement sales in Brazil totalled 25.4Mt, down 1.5 per cent YoY, according to preliminary data from SNIC, the country’s cement association. Cement consumption in Peru up 6% in June

Peru’s cement market expanded by 5.7 per cent YoY to 0.865Mt in June 2018 and when compared with the previous month, largely stable, according to the latest data from Asocem, the country’s cement association. Of this total, national deliveries fell by 2.1 per cent YoY to 0.76Mt while imports advanced 147.5 per cent YoY to 0.106Mt. In the 1H18 Steppe Cement Ltd sold 738,228t of cement for KZT10,539m (US$30.7m), compared with 650,333t of cement for KZT8553m in 1H17. Brazil’s cement market contracted by 20.3 per cent YoY in May from 4.503Mt to 3.588Mt (excluding imports), according to the latest data published by SNIC, the country's cement association.
