Suhar Cement to add new grinding capacity

Suhar Cement is expected to start its new cement grinding operation later this year. The new facility, featuring a cement mill with a capacity of around 240tph. Cemex raises cement price 5% in Mexico

Cemex has increased the price of cement in Mexico by five per cent last week, making it the second price rise by the company this year. The increase applies to national sales of bagged cement. Total shipments of Portland and blended cement in the USA and Puerto Rico slipped to to 7.42Mt in March 2018 when compared to March 2017, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). In March 2017 total shipments reached 7.49Mt. Siam City to expand production in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh

Siam City Cement (Lanka) Ltd, which is building a new vertical cement grinding plant in Galle, on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, to raise its capacity by 0.4Mta, is on track for start-up in August. The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed to the government to transfer the management of Quang Son cement plant from Vietnam Industrial Construction Corp (Vinaicon) to Vietnam Cement Industry Corp (Vicem), which are both government-run corporations, amid having huge losses and mounting loans, according to Viet Nam News. LafargeHolcim starts Martres-Tolosane modernisation

On Monday, LafargeHolcim announced the start of the modernisation works at its Martres-Tolosane plant in France. The project represents an investment of more than EUR100m. The first phase of civil engineering was awarded to Toulouse-based Eiffage Génie Civil. The next 12 months will see the construction of the foundations of the new preheater tower and kiln line. Bestway Cement's Farooqia plant completes 6000tpd expansion project

Bestway Cement Ltd has completed the installation of its Farooqia plant brownfield expansion project, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The expansion also includes a 9MW waste heat recovery power plant. Lafarge Czech Republic has announced that it plans to invest CZK100m (US$4.54m) in plant upgrades. Deliveries to the Colombian cement market increased 13.9 per cent YoY to 1.025Mt in April 2018, according to the country’s national statistics office, DANE. Antioquia reported a 17.2 per cent rise YoY while in Valle del Cauca and Magdalena, market expansion reached 25.5 and 37.8 per cent, respectively.
