Thanh Thang to develop third line

Thanh Thang Group Cement JSC is investing VND800bn (US$35.2m) in developing the third production line in Ha Nam, northern Vietnam. Construction of the 2.3Mta facility is expected to be completed in 2021. In July 2017 Thanh Thang inaugurated its second production line, which is also located in Ha Nam province. The VND5tn line has a clinker capacity of 6000tpd or 2.3Mta of cement.

SOTACIB Feriana shutdown results in white cement shortage

Steppe Cement has announced that its full-year revenue for 2017 was 20 per cent higher than the previous year, reports Alliance News. The revenue for the period increased to KZT21.4bn (US$65m) from KZT17.9bn seen in 2016. The rise in revenue has been attributed to both an increase in cement prices and the volume of cement sold. JSW Cement Ltd will partner with a global equity firm to bid for Binani Cement, according to The Hindu BusinessLine. Vietnam’s demand for cement increased seven per cent YoY to 62Mt in 2017, according to the Department of Price Management, Ministry of Finance. At the start of the new year, Mexican cement producers have raised the price of grey cement between 6-10 per cent, according to Ramiro Páez Cruz, president of the Mexican Association of Independent Concrete Co (AMCI). Cruz Azul and Fortaleza raised the prices of their products by five per cent while the increase by Cemex, Moctezuma and Holcim was 6.25, seven and 10 per cent, respectively.
