Steppe Cement Ltd recorded 11 per cent revenue growth in 2022 to KZT40m (US$86,560) from KZT36m a year earlier, citing positive market conditions as it focussed on the Kazakh domestic market. Heidelberg Materials says that it will build a new hybrid carbon capture (CCUS) unit at its subsidiary SA Cimenteries CBR 's cement plant in Antoing , Belgium, that will almost completely neutralise the plant's carbon-dioxide emissions. Vietnam’s VICEM has reported profits of VND1.53trn (US$63.9m) in 2022, down 30 per cent YoY. Revenue, meanwhile, advanced 17 per cent to VND39.45trn over the same period, reports VN Express. Cambodia's five cement factories produced 7.7Mt of cement in the January-November period of last year, according to a report from the Cambodian Cement Manufacturing Association (CCMA). Kampot Cement Co Ltd (SCG) was the largest producer at 2.2Mt, followed by Chip Mong Insee Cement Corp (CMIC) with 1.9Mt. Kenyan cement consumption falls 15% YoY

Cement consumption in Kenya declined from 2.596Mt in the third quarter of 2021 to 2.217Mt in the same period this year, marking a contraction of 14.6 per cent YoY.
