New cement and clinker plants for Burundi

Burundi company Intracom is finalising the process to set up clinker and cement plants in Kigoma, according to the Daily News. The cement plant will have a capacity of 0.6Mta while the clinker plant will have a 1Mta capacity. Carbon Clean has closed the largest-ever equity funding round for a point source carbon capture company with US$150m raised from existing investor Chevron. Cement sales in Brazil slipped 2.8 per cent in April 2022 to 5.138Mt from 5.288Mt in April 2021, according to the national cement association, SNIC. Dangote has reported a 24.2 per cent YoY increase in group revenue to NGN413.2bn (US$995.4bn) in the opening quarter of 2022.
