Saint-Gobain has signed a renewable electricity supply agreement (power purchase agreement or PPA) with CVE, an independent French renewable energy producer, to secure about 140GWh of solar electricity in South Africa, over a 20-year period. Sinoma International Engineering has won a EUR218m (US$238m) contract with Holcim to build a 1.68Mta clinker cement production line in Belgium. Italy's cement output falls 8% in September

Cement production in Italy declined by eight per cent YoY in September 2023, according to the Italian concrete association, Federbeton. When compared with the 2015-baseline index of 100, output fell  to 93. The EU Innovation Fund has chosen to co-finance Heracles Group ’s ( Holcim ) Olympus CO 2  capture project.
