Cement deliveries in Switzerland declined 2.5 per cent to 1,108,772t in the third quarter of 2021, according to cemsuisse, the country’s cement association. Colombian cement dispatches picked up 4.3 per cent to 1.098Mt in August 2021 from 1.052Mt in August 2020, according to the country’s statistics office, DANE. Cement dispatches by Chilean cement producers improved 21.1 per cent to 371,947t in August 2021 from 307,117t in August 2020, according to the Chilean construction chamber, CChC. In the January-August 2021 period, deliveries advanced 24 per cent to 2,879,749t from 2,321,691t in the 8M20.

Morocco’s cement market expands 12% in September

Moroccan cement deliveries by member companies have advanced by 12.4 per cent YoY to 1,395,542t in September 2021 from 1,241,374t in September 2020, according to the Moroccan cement association, APC. In the first nine months of 2021 dispatch volumes were up 18.3 per cent YoY to 10,236,566t from 8,653,221t in the January-September 2020 period.

Argentinian cement demand increased seven per cent YoY to 1,110,527t in September 2021 from 1,037,475t in September 2021, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. Cement demand in Bolivia advanced 40.6 per cent to 325,789t in July 2021 from 231,662t in July 2020 but remained 9.3 per cent below its 2019 level of 359,307t, according to national statistics office, INE. Indonesian cement consumption increased by 2.9 per cent to 6.03Mt in August 2021, according to the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI). Iranian cement demand expands 7% MoM in August

Iran’s cement consumption reached 4.27Mt in August 2021, according to the Iranian cement association. This represents a 6.8 per cent uptick when compared with July 2021. Cement and clinker production stood at 4.79Mt and 5.08Mt, respectively. In addition to supplying the domestic market, Iranian cement producer exported 0.32Mt of cement and 0.44Mt of clinker.

Cement dispatches in Peru advanced 18 per cent to 1.202Mt in August 2021 when compared with 1.018Mt in August 2020, according to Asocem, the country’s cement association. Cement sales in Vietnam fell 33 per cent YoY and 31 per cent MoM to 3,503,485t in August 2021, according to the Vietnamese cement association, VNCA. VICEM sales declined 31 per cent YoY and MoM to 1,122,792t while the sales of its associates fell 48 per cent YoY and 32 per cent MoM to 700,693t in August 2021.
