Green entrepreneur eyes shut-down Davenport cement plant

Holcim Portland cement plant goes solar in Colorado

Holcim’s Portland cement plant is the first in the United States to use solar panels to help provide power to the plant, company officials say. China Runji Cement Inc  announced that its electricity cost has reduced RMB 4.5m, or US$650,000 following the completion of its waste heat power generator since October 25, 2009. Geocycle to increase alternative fuel production

A Michigan company that converts industrial waste items into an alternative fuel source for the region’s cement manufacturers has invested US$7m to expand its Dorchester plant. Geocycle U.S. said the addition will enable it to increase production by about one third.
