Cemex receives environmental approval for Solid Cement expansion

Ceemex has been given the all clear from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for the its proposed expansion of its cement plant the Antipolo City, Rizal, Philippines. The Solid Cement Corp (SCC) plant will be expanded by 1.5Mta, doubling cement capacity at the facility with the new line. Cemex Holdings Philippines (CHP) signed a contract with CBMI Construction Co Ltd to commence the first phase of SCC's expansion project in Antipolo City in May 2017.

JK Cement plans expansion spree

JK Cement is planning to almost double its grey cement capacity to 18Mta in four years with brownfield and greenfield expansions. The company is embarking on a brownfield expansion of 3.5Mta at its Mangrol facility in Rajasthan. This involves capital expenditure of about INR15,000m (US$232.8m). Eagle Cement Corp has broken ground on the fourth production line at its Cebu plant. The Cebu Line 4 is set for completion in 2020 and will include a 2Mta integrated cement plant, port facilities and cement terminals to serve the islands of Visayas and Mindanao. Long Son Co Ltd has successfully brought its second production line of its Long Son cement plant in Thanh Hoa, into production, raising the plant’s capacity to 14,000tpd (5Mta).
