Cherat Cement six-month profit rises 17% YoY, Pakistan10 February 2014, Published under Cement NewsPakistan-based producer Cherat Cement posted a profit after tax of PKR710m (US$6.74m) in the six months to the end of December 2013. This translates into a rise of 17 per cent YoY despite a drop in exports. On a quarterly basis, the company recorded a profit of PKR437m compared to PKR339m in the corresponding period of last year. Cement exports totalled 4.206Mt on revenues of US$257.07m compared to 4.681Mt at US$304.31m. Pakistan cement sector growth rises 5.2% in FY1320 January 2014, Published under Cement NewsPakistan’s central bank reported growth in the domestic cement sector in FY13 of 5.2 per cent compared to 2.9 per cent the year before.
