Argentina reports 14% demand drop in July

In July 2020 Argentina’s cement market contracted by 13.5 per cent YoY to 865,869t but expanded by 8.5 per cent MoM, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. The market was entirely supplied by domestic production with no imports reported. All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) has issued official dispatch data for July 2020, adding that the new fiscal has started well for the cement sector as the shipments increased by 37.8 per cent from 3.512Mt in July 2019 to 4.838Mt in July 2020 on the back of buoyant export and domestic demand. Vietnam cement and clinker exports rise 36% in July

Vietnam has exported an estimated 3Mt of cement and clinker with a value of US$117m in July, according to the country’s General Statistics Office. This represents a rise of 35.5 per cent in volume and 30.2 per cent in value when compared with July 2019. In the first seven months of 2020 total cement and clinker exports stood at 19.46Mt, up 9.4 per cent YoY. Their value fell 3.4 per cent YoY to US$732m.

Cement consumption in Spain declined 16.5 per cent to 6.1Mt in the first half of 2020 when compared with the 1H19, according to Oficemen, the country’s  cement association.
