Cement dispatches in Argentina increased by 6.7 per cent YoY in August, according to preliminary figures published by the Argentine cement association, AFCP. The domestic market required the supply of 1,042,862t, up from 977,469t in August 2015. Kenya's cement market is now being supplied with cement from a new source as Dangote has started exports from its 2.5Mta Ethiopian plant to the east African country. Sri Lanka’s cement production edged up by 19.7t to 1.04Mt in January-May 2016 and imports were up 18.4 per cent to 1.88Mt. Peru's cement market contracted 3.7 per cent YoY in July as 772,000t were sold, according to the latest data by Asocem, the Peruvian cement association.
