India July cement shipments up 8.5 per cent YoY

Cement shipments in India rose an annual 8.5 per cent in July, compared with the 8.7 percent expansion seen in June, according to data from an industry body.   Sales rose to 14.54Mt in July, compared with 13.4Mt a year ago, according to a statement on the Cement Manufacturer’s Association’s website.   Production in the month rose 9.6 per cent to 14.7Mt in the month, CMA said.

Brazil July cement sales rise 25.9 per cent on year to 4.82Mt

Cement sales in Brazil rose 25.9% in July compared to the same month last year, to 4.82Mt, according to figures out Tuesday from the National Cement Industry Association (SNIC).   From January through July, domestic cement sales rose 16.5% to 28.769Mt on the same period in 2007.   In the 12 months through July, sales grew 15.1% to 48.799Mt.   SNIC expects domestic cement sales to grow by 12% in 2008 compared with 2007.   In June, cement sales in Brazil had increased 13.9% to 4.21Mt.   From J...

Lafarge Cement have taken delivery of 48 bespoke, ’environmentally-focused’ rail wagons for their Hope Works, in Derbyshire, as part of a UK£15m rail expansion programme to supply builders merchants in the south east.
