Belarus production up 10 per cent in first 10 months of 2007

Belarus cement production in the first 10 months of 2007 totaled more than 3.2Mt, 10 per cent higher than in the same period in 2006, reported the Ministry of Statistics and Analysis. October’s cement output amounted to 341,100t, six per cent more than in October 2006. The production of building materials in the first 10 months of 2007 reportedly totaled 2,589.4 billion rubels in terms of value, a 12.1 per cent YoY increase.

Raysut Cement Company reports OMR19.69m profit rise

Raysut Cement Company (RCC) reported a net profit of OMR19.69m as against OMR 15.68m registered during the same period in 2006, an upsurge of 25.6 per cent. The growth resulted from a 418 per cent climb in domestic sales volume and a substantial rise in the selling price of cement per tonne. Mozambique agreement on cement factory

The government of the southern Mozambican province of Inhambane on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indian company Aar Ess Exim Pvt Ltd, for the building of a cement factory in the locality of Pambara.     The factory, budgeted at more than US$65m, would be able to produce 1000tpd, and would employ around 250 workers.     Construction is scheduled to begin next year, and the factory should start operating by late 2009.     That, however, depends on the viability stud...

Cement consumption in Spain rose by 1.28 per cent YoY to 47.7Mt in the first 10 months of 2007, the Spanish cement makers association Oficemen said on November 16.     Cement output in Spain totalled some 46Mt, increasing by 1.6 per cent.
