Citing unnamed sources, the paper said Saint-Gobain and Lafarge recently held talks over a possible tie-up, and notably discussed the governance of the new entity. In a statement issued to the ISE by Cimsa noted that the parties reached an agreement in principle regarding the acquisitions.
