Egypt shortlists 24 firms to build cement plants

Egypt shortlisted 24 firms on Thursday to bid for 14 licences to build new cement factories or expand existing operations as part of efforts to increase domestic supply, a government statement said. Indian cement companies are likely to post robust growth in sales and profit figures for the second quarter of the financial year, according to analysts. Cement maker PT Semen Bosowa in South Sulawesi said it will launch an initial public offering (IPO) early next year to raise Rp600 billion (US$66.5 million).
