Gulf Cement Company has no plans to raise prices

The Gulf Cement Company, UAE yesterday announced the company has no plans to raise cement prices, especially after the company implemented a major expansion plan which almost tripled its production of clinker and will at least double its cement production. Reduced Saudi cement production hits Bahrain construction

Secil, the cement division of Semapa SGPS, wants to acquire full control of cement maker Cimentos da Madeira, according to a press release on the Portuguese competition authority website. Camargo Correa builds cement plant in Uruguay

Brazilian firm Camargo Correa announced that it will invest US$130m in a cement manufacturing plant in Paysandu (Uruguay). In a first phase, investments amount to US$60m and in a second US$70m. The Egyptian company Misr Beni Suef Cement made net profit of E£227.7m (US$39.9m) in 2006, 71 per cent more than in the previous year, the stock exchange said on Tuesday.    The company’s net profit in 2005 was E£132.8m. 

West China Cement FY pretax profits double, considering new plant in Shaanxi
