Cement prices in India are expected to increase by INR3-4/bag by mid-January as the government has decided to hike the import duty on petcoke from the current 2.5 to 10 per cent. Vietnam is expected to increase its supply glut in the run-up to 2020, according to Vietnam Net. Production of cement in Azerbaijan increased by 24.8 per cent to 2.66Mt in the first 11 months of 2017, according to Trend News Agency. Bridge closures in Ghana raise cement prices

The price of cement in Tamale, Ghana, has risen to GHS34-35 per bag (US$7-7.70 per bag), an increase of GHS3, on the back of a cement shortage due to bridge closures in the the Central Gonja District. The price hike is a result of Dangote requiring an alternative transport route and Diamond Cement halting production. The bridges are closed for major repair work to save them from further deterioration.

Kyrgyzstan to attract investment for new Ozgorush plant
