Cement demand in Peru increased 3.3 per cent MoM and 12.1 per cent YoY to 0.925Mt in October 2017, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Pakistan cement producers are unlikely to increase their prices for the next three months to avoid investigation by the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP), reports Asianet Pakistan. The gross profit of the cement sector in Pakistan has fallen by 13 per cent YoY to PKR20.9bn (US$198m) in the first quarter of FY18. A 0.6Mta cement factory is being set up as a a joint venture between Ghana and Iran, at the Dawa Industrial Enclave, on the Tema-Aflao road, Ghana.
