Saudi Cement increases output07 August 2012, Published under Cement NewsSaudi Cement Company announced that it has restarted Kiln No 6 on Monday which has a capacity of 35000tpd and an actual capacity that could reach a maximum of 4000tpd of clinker. Production from this kiln will be used to increase the company’s clinker inventory to meet demand, the company said in a statement on its website. |

Dominican Republic exports increase07 August 2012, Published under Cement NewsThe Dominican Association of Portland Cement Manufacturers (Adocem) said today that so far this year, cement exports to other markets increased by 34.2 per cent over the same period last year. Adocem data shows that from January to June, industry sales abroad were 703,000t while last year they rose to 524,000t. GICA seeks cement imports, Algeria03 August 2012, Published under Cement NewsAlgeria’s Cement Group, known as GICA, wants to buy 450,000t of cement to reduce demand it faces in the domestic market, the El Moudjahid newspaper said. The deadline for bids is 2 September the state-run newspaper said today, citing the company. The domestic cement shortage amounted to more than 2.5Mt, according to GICA’s estimates. It produces more than 18Mt of cement and aims to raise this amount to 20Mt by 2016 and by 29Mt by 2018. |
