Bangladesh’s  Confidence Cement  Ltd  announced a  35 per cent dividend (15 per cent cash and 20 per cent bonus) for its shareholders for the year  ended 30  June, 2018 .    Furthermore ,  Zahir  Uddin Ahmed was re-elected as managing director of the company for a period of three years with effect from 1 February 2018. Lafarge Africa records sales increase in 2017

A NGN33bn (US$105m) write-down on Lafarge Africa’s operations in South Africa and Nigeria resulted in a wider loss for 2017, according to Reuters. The one-off impairment charge resulted in a pretax loss of NGN34.03bn, a 32.9 per cent fall from the loss of the previous year. China’s Shanshui Cement Group has announced that its CEO and executive director, Li Heping, has resigned with immediate effect. Elsewhere, Liu Yiu Keung has stepped down from his role as chairman of the board and executive director of the company. Li Zhiqiang has also resigned from his position as vice chairman of the board and executive director.
